UA Local 254|Manitoba Unions - Local Union 254 represents the main pipe fitting trades in and around Manitoba. The offices are based in Winnipeg and represent union labour tradespersons in plumbing, steamfitting, sprinklerfitting, refrigeration and welding.Local 254 is chartered with the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada. The Local boasts of having a membership of 1200 men and women and this figure is growing every month.The Winnipeg Local is managed by elected officers. They are a Business Manager, who runs the day to day business of the Local; a Finance Committee, who looks over the financial aspects of the Local, and an Executive Board. Attached to Local 254 is the Piping Industry Training Committee of Manitoba which oversees all apprentices in the above trades and also provides trade specific training to better the skills of our journeypersons.Our Health and Welfare Benefits and Pension Plans are independently administered by Benefits Companies and are overseen by Trustees who are elected by the membership.
