Manitoba Public Insurance is a non-profit Crown Corporation that has provided basic automobile coverage since 1971. Public insurance was introduced after extensive public hearings that found the existing private system to be expensive, inadequate and confusing. The Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation officially opened for business on Nov. 1, 1971. Our services are available throughout Manitoba in claim centres and Customer Service centres. Driver and vehicle licensing services are available at more than 300 Autopac brokers around the province.Throughout its history, Manitoba Public Insurance has undertaken constant and meaningful change to continually improve service and value. As we drive forward into the future, we remain committed to listening and responding to the needs of Manitobans to ensure that Manitoba Public Insurance remains relevant to the citizens of this province. Our staff of about 1,750 is dedicated to keeping Manitoba’s roads safe and vehicle insurance rates low. We’re a large company, but we are accountable to you every step of the way.
