The idea for Artisano Bakery Café was thought up by brothers Michael and Joe Simeone and their friend Kathy Stoodley. The entrepreneurial trio wanted to translate their love of home-style baking and fresh food into an exciting new restaurant concept – a friendly neighbourhood café where people were treated like guests, not customers. A place where the food was healthy and fresh, not fast and fried. And they wanted it to all happen in a warm and friendly environment where people could relax and enjoy wholesome meals and fresh-baked goods. This unique concept, the first of its kind in Canada, paired with a rising desire for fresh and wholesome food served up in a friendly and relaxing environment, proved to be a winning combination.
